Frequently Asked Questions

Who is DeepFeet Bar Therapy?

Founded by Ruthie Piper Hardee in 1995, DeepFeet Bar Therapy is the original westernized form of Ashiatsu barefoot massage in the United States. Ruthie built upon eastern barefoot modalities that she witnessed growing up and adapted these by incorporating the overhead bar system, a standard massage table, and using cream and long, fluid effleurage strokes. The result is the "deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet!"

What is Sarga Bodywork?

Sarga Bodywork is a barefoot massage method that employs the use of a fabric strap fastened to a massage table to deliver therapeutic myofascial and deep tissue techniques. This fabric strap is used by practioners for stability and to add tensional and gravitational force to specific manual therapy methods. These methods, combined with the broad contact surface of the foot, facilitate less restriction and more ease and relaxation in recipient's bodies.

What is the difference between Sarga Bodywork and the DF Sarga Silks workshop?

Sarga Bodywork is based on myofascial strucutral integration principles and a patented system of fabric attached to the massage table to deliver massage techniques by use of tensional force. Table 1 teaches therapists these techniques on a raised massage table. DF Sarga Silks workshop uses Sarga Bodywork's proprietary silk attachment system to deliver DeepFeet Bar Therapy protocols, which are effleurage, petrissage, and trigger point based, to deliver deep tissue strokes within the muscle bellies to facilitate muscle relaxation and overall relaxation within the entire system. DF Sarga Silks workshop curriculum is floor based using the shiatsu release cables on a portable massage table.

What if I can't make it to the workshop I'm registered for? What is your refund policy?

DeepFeet Bar Therapy and Sarga Bodywork both have their own refund and rescheduling policies. Please see DeepFeet policies here. Please see Sarga Bodywork policies here.
