I feel so blessed to be given the opportunity to be an instructor for DeepFeet Bar Therapy.  I wholeheartedly believe that Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage is one of the best massage modalities on the planet.

Becoming a massage therapist is a bit of a "second career" for me.  In 2008, I quit my job as a flight attendant and enrolled in massage school on a whim.  Between dealing with irate people on a regular basis, breathing recycled air everyday, and never quite knowing exactly what city or time zone I was in had really begun to take a toll on me mentally and physically in just a few short years.  Massage school taught me, not only how to live properly in my own skin, but also how to relate properly with other human beings and serve them in a therapeutic capacity.

I worked at a local massage company here in Austin, for 4 years where I specialized in Deep Tissue work.  But because a car accident when I was 18 left me with a weakened right hand, pain began to manifest itself in my wrist, and I had to cut back my hours.  Like a lot of other therapists, I was also dealing with low back pain from bending over a massage table for 6 hours a day.

There were several Ashiatsu therapists where I worked, but I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to do the same kind of work with my feet.  I finally conquered my fears and signed up for a DeepFeet workshop and the rest is history.

I'm here to testify that feet were made to massage the body.  They fit so well and do things that the hands just can't do.  I've been doing Ashiatsu in my own private practice for 5 years now, and I can honestly say that once clients receive a barefoot massage, they never go back!

Come feel for yourself

If you are interested in learning Ashiatsu but have never had the pleasure of the Barefoot experience, schedule a 30-minute "DEMO" appointment with me.  I'll give you a free demonstration of how some of the strokes feel as well as answer any questions you may have about DeepFeet Bar Therapy Classes.

If you're in need of some bodywork anyway, book a full appointment with me, and find out why Ashiatsu has earned the reputation as "the best massage ever".

If you're a previous student of a DeepFeet Bar Therapy Workshop, and you're feeling stuck or a little uncertain about a specific protocol, book some time, and we"ll work together to help you feel more confident.

Our goal is to make you a better therapist.

Practicing Ashiatsu:

• allows you to work "smarter not harder".  Lets gravity do most of the work for you.
• feels luxurious and therapeutic to the client all at the same time.
• is a great workout for your arms, legs, and core
• doesn't compress your wrists like hand massage, thus relieving pain and inflammation in those joints
• has SO many other benefits.  Come take a class and see for yourself!

Who is DeepFeet Bar Therapy?

Founded by Ruthie Piper Hardee in 1995, DeepFeet Bar Therapy is the original westernized form of barefoot massage in the United States.  Ruthie built upon eastern barefoot modalities that she witnessed growing up and adapted these by incorporating the overhead bar system, a standard massage table, and using cream and long fluid effleurage strokes.  The result is "the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet!"  Learn more about our founder Ruthie and DeepFeet Bar Therapy at:
